TREE STUMP GRINDING & REMOVAL

Serving Tacoma, Lakewood, and Gig Harbor.

Our Tree Stump Grinding & Removal Services

At Apex Tree Experts, we have been providing the Tacoma, Lakewood, and Gig Harbor areas with tree stump removal and grinding services since 2005. If you have a stump on your property that is serving no purpose, it might be time to remove it. While it may seem like tree stumps are not an issue, they can inhibit the growth of other trees, carry diseases, and attract unwanted pests — in turn, contributing negatively to the overall health of your property.

Rather than letting a stump sit and rot on your property, we urge you to get in touch with our team to schedule a stump grinding or other stump removal services. Not only will stump removal enhance the health of your living trees and protect them as they grow, but stump grinding and removal will also leave you with a beautiful yard that looks brand new. We look forward to hearing from you!

Tree Stump Grinding & Removal

OUR TACOMA-AREA TREE STUMP REMOVAL SERVICES

Our team, here at Apex Tree Experts, has been removing and grinding stumps in the Pacific Northwest since 2005. Stumps are removed to eliminate possible infectious diseases which endanger healthy trees. By removing stumps we also reduce pest problems like carpenter ants and termites. Besides removing an unsightly stump we make room for new plantings.

After the removal of a tree, the resulting stump should be removed. As tree care professionals, we try to leave only the smallest of stumps. Regardless of the size of the tree or shrub that has been removed, there is almost always a stump left behind. The most effective and efficient means of removing the stump is with a stump grinder. Stump grinders are mobile tools that grind away at your stump until it is just below grade. Grinding is safer and more natural than the use of chemicals. The resulting wood grindings or chips can be used for mulch or compost. This will help in re-planting or re-seeding.

Stump Grinding in Action

Here is a video of stump grinding in action. This stump was from a 65-year-old cedar was cut down. This grinding took longer than the old plum tree did (from the video above), but still, it was a lot faster than removing it by hand. The job was done quickly and economically from a spread of surface roots to cutting down the stump below grade and leaving nothing but sawdust on top.

Reuse the Stump Grinding Byproducts

As part of our Tacoma stump removal services, we can also feed limbs and branches into a chipping machine, which adds to the volume of chips to be used for mulch. Wood chips and rounds are the natural way to return yard waste into the soil. The wood grindings and wood chips can be used for mulch or compost, or ground cover.

If you have stumps in your yard from previous tree removals, which were never removed we can grind them away for you as well. Our services are there to help you. Also if you have other brush and shrubs you would like removed and run through our chipper, we are happy to accommodate those services as well.
